History and Others
About 1,200 years ago, Tikal was one of the major cities in what is now known as Guatemala. The Maya civilisation stretched across modern day Mexico, Belize and Guatemala. Tikal held about 100,000 people. The Farmland and fields as well extended as far as the eye could see.
The Maya prospered for almost 2,000 years. Without using metal tools and cartwheels, they built massive structures made of stone. Tikal is in the Peten Province State. Unfortunately, the Peten state is against deforestation and although Tikal are damages that are now irreparable. Also, there is a garbage and waste management problem that is beginning to grow.
